Let’s try Again!

Have you ever wanted to do something, put it on your to-do list, keep wanting to come back to it, over and over again, but never quite gotten to it? Yeah, me too… and this blog has been one of those things. My last post was December 1st, 2017… I mean… REALLY?!?!? I was starting to think that this post isn’t a re-start of my old blog, but rather an outright NEW START to blogging. A lot has happened in the last six and half years (don’t worry, I am not going to give a blow-by-blow). But seriously… life has dramatically changed: the birth of my third child, a global pandemic, church growth… I mean, I’m even doing a Masters degree (and those are just some of the highlights).

So why start writing again? Why try and revive something that I obviously wasn’t keeping up with? And let’s be honest, I have no idea if anyone was actually reading it (or reading this for that matter)! Well, truth is, writing has always been a way for me to process my thinking, my faith, and my emotions, and perhaps share with others who may have an interest (or simply feel curious). One of the reasons writing has always been beneficial to me, is because it forces me, or should I say ‘allows me’ to make space, slow down and process. Sadly, I have been bad in the last few years at maintaining the discipline of stopping to reflect in this manner. Now, don’t jump to any conclusions, stopping, being still and reflecting have happened but just in different ways, but recently I have been drawn back to the blogging realm. Add to this, some recent encouragement from dear friends, that perhaps my random thoughts and musings may be of use to others (be it ‘wisdom, inspiration, or simply a laugh). So here we go. With this, I am officially committing to update and maintain the blog.

So, what can be expected from this space? And what is this ‘Simple Faith’ thing all about? Well, simply put, I have always said I am a man of simple faith. While I can easily complicate my faith, think deeply, and get lost in all sorts of ponderings, writings and such, I always tend to bring myself back to the simplicity of the Gospel and live my day-to-day seeking to live as Jesus leads me to. So, my aim and hope is to share all sorts, from personal spiritual reflections, thoughts, encouragements, and some of my own challenges of life and faith. I am currently on Sabbatical, which (in addition to spending time reading and writing my Masters Dissertation) I am taking time to reset some of these necessary rhythms of life, which includes writing. I hope and pray that this may be of some use to you (or anyone you may share it with), as you journey with me wherever the Lord may lead in this blogosphere.
